Everton have been dealt a major injury blow, with midfielder Alex Iwobi likely to be out of action for three weeks due to ankle ligament damage.
The Nigerian was left needing treatment after a tackle early in the second half of Friday’s defeat at Manchester United and following a scan, Everton have confirmed that his injury will need to be managed conservatively by their medical staff.
The news is a setback for Toffees boss Frank Lampard who has made Iwobi an ever-present, excluding one game, for 21 matches in all competitions this season.
