Ake: Competition For Shirt Has Made Me A Better Player At Man City

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake says competition within the squad is lifting his game.

Having come on as a second half substitute, Ake’s superb 89th minute header set the seal on Tuesday’s magnificent 7-0 win over Leeds at the Etihad.

“I think everyone knows that there are so many top players here. I think it is only good to compete with the best and to be around the best manager in the world and to learn from that,” Ake reflected.

“We have so many players and so many competitions, it is just good to be around, to learn and hopefully get a lot of games as well.

“It is a great feeling. To come on and to be able to score is always good.

“I like to head balls and I have scored a few goals like that so hopefully I can continue to do that. It was a top performance from the team. From the first minute, everyone was on it.

“We are very happy that we scored so many goals as well. It is great to see [the performance]. I think everyone knows what we are capable of but also what kind of energy we put in with the pressing side, tracking back and those kinds of things.

“That is always good to see.”
