Former Super Eagles left back, Ifeanyi Udeze has said that the Augustine Eguavoen led technical crew might not make impact in when the AFCON kicks off next year in Cameroon.
Udeze, now an in-house football analyst at Nigeria and Africa’s first and only sports radio station, Brila FM, made this known while speaking on a programme tagged “No Holds Barred” on Thursday.
The former PAOK Thessaloniki and West Bromwich Albion defender noted that the time is too short for Eguavoen and his crew to do wonders in Cameroon.
“It’s going to be very difficult for Equavoen and his coaching crew to do anything with the Super Eagles at next year’s AFCON,” Udeze said.
“The problem is that the time is too short for them to perform, no friendly game has been
lined up to prepare the team so it would be very difficult for them to do well.”
“But I wish them all the best and hope they do well,” he said.
Eguavoen was announced as the interim Super Eagles boss shortly after the sack of Gernot Rohr with three less than three weeks to the commencement of the AFCON in Cameroon.
He will be assisted by Salisu Yusuf, Paul Aigbogun, Garba Lawal, Alloy Agu and Joseph Yobo.
