The Nigeria Football Federation has finalized a key coaching shakeup, officially naming Manu Garba and Moses Aduku to lead the country’s top youth national teams. www.isagoal.com reports.
According to Vanguard, Garba will head the U17 Golden Eaglets, a team he guided to World Cup glory back in 2013, while Aduku will now manage the U20 Falconets.
Garba, who has steered the Golden Eaglets through multiple FIFA U17 World Cup campaigns, returns with solid experience and a proven track record.
He last took the helm during the 2019 edition in Brazil, helping Nigeria qualify for the global tournament once again.
The appointment of Moses Aduku signals a focused move for the Falconets as they gear up for upcoming qualifiers.
Aduku, who previously worked as assistant coach during the team’s run to the quarter-finals of the 2022 U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, now takes the lead role.
He has also earned respect managing top-flight clubs like Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens in the domestic women’s league.
Both newly-appointed coaches will assume duties this Sunday to begin preparations for their September assignments.
The Falconets will face Rwanda in a 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier, while the Golden Eaglets are set to compete in the WAFU B U17 tournament hosted by Nigeria.
“This is a return to familiar territory, and I’m ready for the challenge,” Garba said following the announcement.
“It’s time to push the next generation of stars forward,” added Aduku on his new assignment.
