Barcelona have identified Marcus Rashford as their top left-wing target this summer following setbacks in their pursuit of Luis Diaz and Nico Williams, IsaGoal can report.
According to Sky in Germany, Barcelona are “prepared to go all-in” to land Rashford after Liverpool turned down offers for Diaz and Williams committed to a new deal at Athletic Club.
Rashford, 27, has returned to Manchester United’s Carrington training base early but is working away from the first-team squad using medical and rehab facilities.
The England international is one of five United players allowed to explore exits, and sources say he’s told the club he wants a “new challenge.”
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa but now wants to secure a move to a Champions League side.
Barcelona is his preferred destination, and he has ruled out a return to London or being used in any swap deals.
Rashford recently lost his iconic No. 10 shirt at United to new signing Matheus Cunha, a move widely seen as a sign of a shift in the club’s direction under Ruben Amorim.
Though Barcelona remain limited by financial fair play rules and LaLiga’s strict registration policies, a transfer is looking more realistic than it did two weeks ago.
Negotiations will be complex due to Rashford’s current wages and United’s reluctance to agree to a loan.
But with Barcelona keen and Rashford eager, the stage is set for one of the summer’s biggest deals.
