Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Celtic have discovered their opponents for the newly reformed league phase of the 2024/25 Champions League.
The competition now features 36 teams in a single league format, replacing the traditional group stage. Each team will play eight matches, four at home and four away.
After the eight matches, the top eight teams in the standings will automatically advance to the last 16.
Teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in a two-legged playoff to secure the remaining spots in the knockout stages and the bottom 12 teams will be eliminated.
The draw was conducted with teams placed into four pots, but the pot system has less significance than in previous years.
Each team will face two opponents from the same pot, increasing the competitive nature of the early stages.
Manchester City will play Inter Milan, PSG, Club Bruges, Juventus, Feyenoord, Sporting Lisbon, Sparta Prague, and Slovan Bratislava.
Liverpool will face Real Madrid, Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan, Lille, PSV, Bologna, and Girona.
Arsenal is set to take on PSG, Inter Milan, Shakhtar Donetsk, Atalanta, Dinamo Zagreb, Sporting Lisbon, Monaco, and Girona.
Aston Villa will compete against Bayern Munich, Leipzig, Juventus, Club Bruges, Celtic, Young Boys, Bologna, and Monaco.
Celtic will face Aston Villa, Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Club Bruges, Atalanta, Young Boys, Dinamo Zagreb, and Slovan Bratislava.
While the match order has been revealed, the exact dates for these fixtures will be announced on Saturday.
The new format aims to provide more high-profile and competitive matches early in the competition, with a total of 144 games being played in this league phase.
This restructuring of the Champions League is part of UEFA’s effort to offer a more engaging and financially rewarding tournament.
