Arsenal are reportedly in the race to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton this summer, along with Chelsea and Manchester United.
The 19-year-old is said to have been labelled as a ‘very special’ player by Jadon Sancho and had caught the eye of Pep Guardiola when he was just 14 while playing in a tournament named the KDB Cup.
City ultimately sold him last season but still have a buy-back clause worth around £40 million that can only be activated next year.
As a result, Arsenal may look to swoop in and sign him this summer before City can make use of their clause.
Lavia has also shown promising signs this season as a controlling midfielder at the back four.
He originally started his career in the Anderlecht youth ranks which produced stars such as Vincent Kompany, Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans.
