Dybala has not enjoyed the international career that his talent deserves having played at different top clubs in Europe, and that is largely down to the misfortune of playing in roughly the same position as Messi.

The AS Roma forward undoubtedly had an impressive season with the Giallorossi in the Serie A, but wasn’t consider good enough to be part of the squad for the 48th edition Copa America.

Neymar – (Al-Hilal)

The all-time leading goal-scorer and poster boy of Brazilian football Neymar, will also miss the tournament after he suffered an ACL injury while on international duty in October.

Interestingly, Neymar was asked by a fans at the Riyadh Arena during Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s bout if he will play at this year Copa America, he replied with an emphatic no.

With the Samba Boys set to compete against the best during the tournament, the fans in Brazil will look forward to see the new star-boy Vinicius Jrn lead the team to success in the United States in the absent of Neymar.

Richarlison – (Tottenham Hotspur)

Like Neymar, Richarlison, 2022 World Cup hero will also not be part of the party in this year Copa America alongside Arsenal’s forward Gabriel Jesus and Manchester United’s midfielder Casemiro.

Richarlison, Casemiro, Ederson, Antony and Gabriel Jesus all plays in the English Premier League, and not every one them doesn’t deserve to be in the United States but due to injury and loss of form they have to be dropped.

Matheus Cunha, another Brazilian player in the English Premier League also didn’t make the squad, despite having a relatively decent season with Nottingham Forest.

Daryl Dike – (West Brom)

The host nation reportedly has a relatively clean squad in terms of injury crisis ahead of the Copa America set to commence next month, however, there are some big absentees that won’t be part of tournament.

Daryl Dike, is out of the rest of 2024 after suffering his second achilles injury in as many years, as such he’s going to be one of the major absentees at this year Copa America on home-ground.

The duo of Auston Trusty and Drake Callender will also not be part of the squad, not because of injury but because they aren’t invited for the Copa America.
