Tosin Adarabioyo remains undecided about playing for the Nigerian national team, despite ongoing interest and questions that have followed him throughout his career, www.isagoal.com reports.
The Chelsea defender, currently in Lagos after celebrating Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup win, admitted he’s still weighing the option of representing the Super Eagles. He confirmed that Nigeria remains a serious consideration.
As a youth, Tosin wore the England jersey across various age levels—U16, U17, U18, and U19—but those caps came in non-competitive fixtures.
That detail means the former Manchester City academy captain doesn’t need a FIFA switch to play for Nigeria’s senior squad.
According to Arise News, both ex-coach José Peseiro and current manager Eric Chelle have been in contact with his camp about a potential commitment to Nigeria.
“We’ll see in the near future, hopefully, and I’ll start to make a decision,” Tosin said when asked about his international plans.
The 27-year-old center-back acknowledged it’s been a talking point since the start of his professional career, adding, “It’s something I still think about.”
With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers approaching, Nigeria sees Tosin as a potential reinforcement.
“You have to look at the bigger picture and make a decision,” he said, leaving fans waiting.
