Wilfred Ndidi started his journey at Besiktas this week, stepping onto the training field after his recent €8 million transfer from Leicester City—www.isagoal.com reports.
Joining the Turkish giants ahead of their UEFA Conference League second-leg match, Ndidi immediately got to work alongside his new teammates. The training was led by Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
During Monday’s session, Ndidi engaged in various drills including fitness runs, possession games, and tactical exercises designed to sharpen team shape. The workout finished with a high-intensity double-goal tactical game.
Tammy Abraham, a former Chelsea and AC Milan striker with Nigerian roots, also trained with the squad after his impressive hat-trick in the first leg against St. Patrick’s Athletic.
After eight and a half years at Leicester, where he made over 300 appearances and contributed to major wins like the FA Cup, Ndidi seeks fresh challenges in Turkey.
Besiktas aims to reclaim the Super Lig crown, last won in 2021, with Ndidi expected to bring much-needed stability and strength to their midfield.
He could feature as soon as Thursday’s European fixture and will focus on syncing quickly with his teammates ahead of the league match against Eyupspor.
Ndidi’s immediate priority is to adapt fast to his new surroundings and help Besiktas push forward on multiple competitive fronts.
