Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. will miss his side’s upcoming Champions League match against Liverpool due to a hamstring injury.
The Brazilian international played the full 90 minutes in Real Madrid’s 3-0 La Liga victory over Leganes on Sunday and has since been sidelined with a “biceps femoris” injury in his left leg.
Real Madrid announced that Vinicius Jr. was excluded from their 19-man squad for the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.
Reports suggest the winger could be out for around three weeks, though the club has not officially confirmed the exact duration of his recovery.
Vinicius Jr. took to X expressing frustration with the packed fixture schedule: “Crazy calendar. Time to recover.”
In addition to Vinicius Jr.’s absence, Liverpool may also be without defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, who missed the 3-2 victory over Southampton due to a hamstring injury sustained before the international break.
The absence of both players could impact the respective teams’ performances as they prepare for a crucial European clash at Anfield.
