Victor Osimhen’s long-anticipated switch to Galatasaray is nearly over the line, and the full financial scale of the deal has now come into focus, Isagoal can report.
Napoli’s acceptance of Galatasaray’s proposal confirms the Turkish club’s success in what has been a difficult, prolonged negotiation.
Osimhen’s expected transfer ends over two years of speculation surrounding his departure from Naples, where numerous attempts to sign him had fallen through due to Napoli’s firm stance.
Galatasaray will pay €40 million upfront to secure the Nigerian forward, with the remaining €35 million spread across instalments over the next 12 months.
His annual net salary is estimated between €15 million and €16 million, on top of nearly €10 million per year in sponsorship deals, placing him among Turkey’s highest-paid athletes.
Included in the deal is a 10% sell-on clause favouring Napoli, along with a condition barring Osimhen from joining another Serie A side for two seasons.
Factoring in wages, bonuses, and the transfer fee, Osimhen’s total cost could top €150 million by the end of year three.
He is scheduled to undergo his medical in Istanbul before July ends, with only final paperwork left to complete the move.
Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, speaking to Sabah via Nexus Sports, said, “If you don’t replace Osimhen, I’ll stay at Galatasaray.”
Morata, who had hailed Osimhen as “a great person and one of the best centre forwards in the world,” has now left the club, joining Serie A side Como instead.
