Championship side Luton Town have signed former Premier League champion Victor Moses on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old winger/wing-back has returned to English football after stints with major clubs including Crystal Palace, Liverpool, West Ham, Fenerbahce, Inter Milan, and Spartak Moscow.
After a four-year tenure in Russia with Spartak Moscow, Moses expressed his desire for a return to English football, considering Luton Town the ideal destination.
He mentioned, “I had a few offers from Europe, but I set my mind on staying over here, and here we are. I’m very pleased and honoured to be at this club and I just can’t wait to get going. I want to enjoy my football, work hard for the club and for the team.”
Luton boss Edwards is thrilled to have secured Moses’ services, praising his experience and versatility. “Victor is someone we’ve been talking to for a while,” said Edwards.
“He trained with us last week, played 60 minutes in a closed-door game, and we made the decision to bring him in. He can provide competition, play in various positions, and add tactical awareness to our squad.”
Edwards emphasized that while Moses won’t start games immediately, he’s fit and ready to contribute.
He also highlighted Moses’ humility and willingness to join the team on trial, saying, “He’s got an amazing CV but is a down-to-earth person eager to play for Luton.”
