Nottingham Forest have officially confirmed that Ola Aina has signed a contract extension that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2028, IsaGoal can report.
According to the club’s announcement via their official website, the Super Eagles defender played a pivotal role during Forest’s 2024/25 Premier League run.
Aina started 35 of 38 league matches, primarily operating as a right-back despite previously being deployed on the left.
His tactical flexibility and high work rate stood out, especially as he won possession in the defensive third more times than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues.
He also made an impact going forward, scoring twice—including a standout left-footed goal in Forest’s dominant 3-0 win over West Ham at the City Ground.
His performances were key in securing a seventh-place finish, one of Forest’s strongest campaigns in recent years.
Aina joined Forest from Torino in 2023 and has since made 59 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Before his Premier League move, he featured in 102 Serie A matches, adding valuable experience to Forest’s growing squad.
On the international front, he’s nearing 50 caps for Nigeria, needing just four more appearances to reach that milestone.
“I’m over the moon,” Aina said. “It’s always felt like home ever since I joined. I’m happy to be here.”
He added: “Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”
