Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga has joined Sevilla on a season-long loan, with an option for a permanent deal.
The Spanish club will cover the entirety of Lokonga’s wages during his loan spell, and the option to buy is reported to be worth £10 million.
Arsenal has negotiated a 25 per cent sell-on fee as part of the agreement.
This clause could see the Gunners benefit financially if Sevilla decides to make Lokonga’s loan move permanent and later sell him.
The Belgian midfielder had other suitors, including Italian side Fiorentina, who had prepared a higher bid.
However, Lokonga reportedly only wanted to join Sevilla.
This move marks Arsenal’s early activity in the summer transfer window, signaling their readiness to make changes within the squad ahead of the new season.
For Lokonga, joining Sevilla offers an opportunity to gain valuable playing time and potentially secure a permanent place in their midfield setup.
