Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka expressed regret after a Premier League clash at Anfield in December 2023 led to a serious injury for Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas. The incident unfolded during a high-tempo match between the two title challengers, where an early Arsenal goal was later canceled out by Mohamed Salah.

According to the Mirror, a physical contest saw Saka challenge Tsimikas in what he described as a 50/50 duel. The impact sent Tsimikas tumbling off the pitch and crashing into then-Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp. The collision resulted in a broken collarbone for the Greek left-back, who had to be substituted and sent to hospital.

Reacting after the match, Saka made it clear the collision wasn’t intentional and extended his sympathy to the injured player.

“I heard he has gone to hospital so obviously I want to apologise to him, I didn’t mean it of course,” Saka told Sky Sports.

The recent meeting between the clubs saw Liverpool crowned champions while Arsenal settled for a 2-2 draw. Despite the on-field drama, fans also revisited past moments that shaped the rivalry, including the injury incident involving Tsimikas.
