Reigning NPFL champions Remo Stars have announced three new arrivals as they prepare for a busy season in the league and on the continental stage – www.isagoal.com reports.
According to Premium Times, the Ikenne-based club confirmed the signing of Malian midfielder Chaka Coulibaly, striker Adama Goita, and Beninese defensive midfielder Jerome Bonou.
The three players penned two-year contracts as the Sky Blue Stars look to add strength and depth across key areas.
Coulibaly was signed from Sportive Binga FC, while Goita arrives from Malian powerhouse Djoliba AC.
Benin international Bonou completed his move from Association Omnisports Les Requins de l’Atlantique earlier this week.
“Coulibaly and Goita have signed two-year deals, and we are delighted to bring them on board,” the club said in an official statement.
Remo Stars clinched their first-ever NPFL title last season with 71 points, seven ahead of Rivers United.
Their CAF Champions League campaign begins against US Zilimadjou of Comoros, with a possible tie against Mamelodi Sundowns in the next round.
Domestically, the champions start their title defence against Rivers United at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta due to ongoing renovations at Ikenne.
