Real Madrid Name Price for Konate Amid Liverpool Talks

Real Madrid want Ibrahima Konaté but won’t meet Liverpool’s €50m demand, eyeing a bargain move or free transfer next year amid growing transfer tensions

Real Madrid have set their maximum price for Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté amid ongoing interest in bringing the Frenchman to the Santiago Bernabeu, IsaGoal can report.

Spanish outlet AS confirms that Liverpool value Konaté at €50million (£43.1m), but Madrid view that figure as excessive for a player who could be available for free next summer.

Konaté, 26, is entering the final year of his contract at Anfield and has reportedly informed the Reds he will not sign an extension.

That stance has alerted Real Madrid, who are in the market for a long-term defensive partner to Éder Militão.

While Arsenal’s William Saliba remains Madrid’s “dream target,” his current deal until 2027 and ongoing renewal talks with the Gunners make a move unlikely.

Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has already secured the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth, but he is pushing to reinforce further, with Konaté now the prime focus.

According to Defensa Central, Los Blancos are only prepared to offer €20–25million (£17.2m–£21.6m) for the French international this summer.

Given the defender’s contract situation, Madrid believe Liverpool may be forced to compromise or risk losing him for nothing in 2025.

Konaté, who arrived at Liverpool from RB Leipzig for £36million in 2021, has emerged as one of the Premier League’s top centre-backs when fit.

However, with no new deal in sight and Real circling, the Reds may have a tough decision to make in the coming weeks.
