Paul Onuachu is set to return to Trabzonspor after Southampton agreed to sell the Nigerian striker for a reported €8 million, IsaGoal can report.

The news was first shared by Southampton FC on their official website, confirming the agreement with the Turkish Super Lig club.

Onuachu scored 17 goals in 25 appearances while on loan at Trabzonspor during the 2023/24 season, earning praise for his physical presence and sharp finishing.

“Southampton Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed with Trabzonspor for the transfer of striker Paul Onuachu,” read the club’s statement.

The 31-year-old had a quiet run at Southampton, netting just four goals in 40 matches over two and a half years with the Championship side.

“We thank Paul for his efforts during his time as a Saints player and wish him well,” the club added in the official announcement.

His return to Trabzonspor could be the spark he needs as he eyes a spot in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Onuachu, who has scored three goals in 24 caps for Nigeria, is eager to reignite his international career and build on his strong form in Turkey.

The deal positions Trabzonspor to add proven firepower ahead of the new campaign, with Onuachu already familiar with the team’s system.
