Newcastle United are preparing an increased bid for AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw after their opening €30m offer was turned down – www.isagoal.com reports.
German outlet reports suggest Thiaw has agreed personal terms with the Magpies on a deal running until 2029.
Milan are holding firm at €35m, with coach Massimiliano Allegri keen to keep the German international.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Newcastle will raise their bid today in a renewed attempt to land the 23-year-old.
The club’s summer dealings have been slow, with only Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale signed so far.
Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Fichajes says Newcastle and Tottenham had €50m bids for Ferran Torres rejected by Barcelona.
Torres has earned Hansi Flick’s trust after strong performances last season, keeping his place in the squad.
