Wilfred Ndidi is on the verge of ending his eight-year run at Leicester City, with Turkish club Besiktas now deep into transfer talks for the Nigerian midfielder — www.isagoal.com reports.
Besiktas shared late Wednesday that negotiations have officially started with both Leicester and Ndidi, confirming the update via Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform.
The midfielder has already landed in Istanbul, greeted by top club officials, and was spotted wearing the team’s gear in photos that surfaced shortly after.
A clip posted by Besiktas shows Ndidi on a flight heading to Turkey, fueling expectations that an agreement is around the corner.
According to reports, personal terms have been settled, and Ndidi is ready to sign a three-year deal, with the fee expected to be around €9.5 million.
“Negotiations have begun with the player and his club,” Besiktas stated, making clear the deal is active and progressing.
Another club post added, “Wilfred Ndidi has arrived in Istanbul to continue talks and take his medical.”
Valencia reportedly attempted a late move, but Leicester stuck with Besiktas, who acted faster once terms were agreed.
Ndidi, who joined the Foxes in 2017, made 303 appearances and tallied 18 goals and 22 assists during his spell in England.
Last season alone, he featured in 30 Championship games, contributing one goal and five assists.
He’s now expected to join a growing list of Nigerian players in Turkey, including Osimhen, Onuachu, and Onyekuru.
Besiktas see Ndidi as a key reinforcement in their hunt for another league title, their first since 2021.
