Álvaro Morata has decided to walk away from Galatasaray and join Italian side Como, breaking his earlier stance tied to Victor Osimhen’s future with the club, Isagoal can report.
Morata previously told Galatasaray he would remain only if they managed to retain Osimhen, who had been linked with a move away all summer.
Turkish outlet Sabah, via Nexus Sports, quoted Morata saying, “If you don’t replace Osimhen, I’ll stay at Galatasaray,” making his conditions clear to the club’s board.
Osimhen’s future now looks resolved, with Galatasaray sealing a €75 million agreement with Napoli—€40 million paid immediately and €35 million due next year.
Despite this, Morata will leave early, cutting short his loan spell from AC Milan which was meant to run through January 2026.
He originally joined to cover for injured striker Mauro Icardi and built a strong on-field partnership with Osimhen during their brief spell together.
“Osimhen is a great person and one of the best centre forwards in the world,” Morata once told Sports Digitale, while praising life in Turkey.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed Morata is finalising a permanent switch to Como, having waited nearly a month for paperwork on the Osimhen deal to be settled.
