Andre Onana has made his decision about his future at Manchester United, IsaGoal can report.
According to The Guardian and The Sun, Monaco recently contacted Onana’s representatives to discuss the chance of signing the Manchester United goalkeeper.
Monaco quickly received a clear response that Onana plans to stay at Old Trafford and has no intention of leaving this summer.
Onana is fully focused on staying at Manchester United, aiming to prove his critics wrong after a season where mistakes attracted attention.
Although he still has three years remaining on his contract, Onana understands that he must work hard to keep his role as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper.
A source told The Sun: “Andre’s plan is to stay in Manchester and he wants to knuckle down and get United back to where they should be. His sole focus is on United and nothing else.”
The source continued: “He’s a confident person and wants to prove the doubters wrong. He knows he has made mistakes but he sees proving people wrong as a challenge.”
Last week, Onana gave a less certain answer during a conversation with a Cameroonian reporter, saying, “Will I leave? I don’t know, we’ll see.”
Reports suggest Onana’s decision could open the door for backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to leave Manchester United this summer.
Monaco are now expected to explore a deal for Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic, who performed well on loan at Strasbourg last season.
Petrovic is also attracting interest from Leeds United, Wolves, and Aston Villa, according to TEAMtalk.
Elsewhere, Manchester United may be preparing to sell Alejandro Garnacho following a reported fallout with manager Ruben Amorim.
The club has reportedly lowered Garnacho’s asking price to speed up transfer talks.
Manchester United winger Antony could also leave, with Real Betis and another club now showing interest in his services.
