West Ham’s attempt to sign Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui has fallen through.
On Thursday, the Hammers agreed on a fee of approximately £16 million with Bayern for Mazraoui, and reports indicated that the player had consented to the move.
However, the deal collapsed within 24 hours due to failed negotiations with Mazraoui’s agent, leading West Ham to withdraw from the transfer.
This opened the door for Manchester United, who are now considering a move for the 26-year-old.
Erik ten Hag has previously managed Mazraoui at Ajax and is eager to bring him to Manchester United.
West Ham’s transfer window so far has been marked by frustration.
The club had secured a loan agreement with Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo but the player appeared to show reluctance.
They also had a bid for N’Golo Kante rejected by Al-Ittihad.
With these setbacks, West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui will need to search for a new right-back and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters has been mentioned as a potential target.
