Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada believes the club can lift the Premier League title within the next three years.
According to Manchester Evening News, Berrada made this confident claim despite Manchester United finishing 15th last season, their lowest league position since 1974.
Berrada said, “Can the team win the Premier League title by 2028? Of course. We’ve just finished 15th and it seems an impossible task. But why not aim for it? Why not do everything in our power?”
Last season, United made a tough decision to part ways with Erik ten Hag in October after a poor start to the campaign.
Ruben Amorim stepped in as manager, but the team’s league form failed to improve.
United reached the Europa League final but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao.
In September, Berrada launched ‘Project 150’ to guide the club back to success in English football.
He explained, “It’s establishing a series of targets within a timeframe so we can focus our efforts and energy on that goal.”
Manchester United has already been active in the transfer market, securing Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a deal worth over £60 million.
Reports suggest both United and Tottenham are pursuing Bryan Mbeumo.
Chelsea is also said to be interested in signing Alejandro Garnacho, raising the possibility of big changes to the squad.
Berrada is confident Cunha will quickly become a fan favourite.
“He’s a player that I think fans are going to love,” Berrada said.
He described Cunha as versatile, creative, and capable of bringing real excitement to Old Trafford.
