Bournemouth ended Manchester City’s impressive 32-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory at the Vitality Stadium.
City hadn’t tasted defeat in the league since their loss to Aston Villa on December 6 last year.
Bournemouth got themselves ahead in the ninth minute through Antoine Semenyo, who put the ball at the back of the net after a well-crafted assist from Milos Kerkez.
City’s defense then faltered, allowing Evanilson to extend Bournemouth’s lead early in the second half.
The Brazilian found the net after being left unmarked in the box, capitalizing on another Kerkez assist.
City came close to equalizing when Josko Gvardiol headed in a cross from Ilkay Gundogan, narrowing the gap to 2-1 with eight minutes left.
However, Bournemouth held firm, with Marcus Tavernier hitting the post and goalkeeper Mark Travers making key saves, including a last-minute stop on Haaland’s volley.
The disappointing result leaves City two points behind Liverpool in the title race.
