Manchester City have reportedly secured the signing of Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki in a £36 million transfer that will also see a City player move in the opposite direction on loan.

The Premier League champions are believed to have finalised terms with Lyon for 21-year-old Rayan Cherki, with add-ons and complex conditions shaping the agreement. According to L’Equipe, the deal will include a loan move for a Manchester City player heading to Lyon as part of the arrangement.
Several City players are reportedly being considered for the swap, including Stefan Ortega, John Stones, James McAtee, and Jack Grealish. Young talents like Claudio Echeverri, Vitor Reis, Juma Bah, and Maximo Perrone may also be potential options for Lyon.
Race against Club World Cup deadline
Pep Guardiola’s side are working to finalise their transfer business before the Club World Cup squad registration deadline on June 10. Manchester City are expected to complete multiple signings before the window temporarily closes, with Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri also expected to join Cherki in the new-look squad.
