Liverpool Revive Victor Osimhen Chase From Napoli

Liverpool are circling Victor Osimhen again as they look to settle an old score with Napoli—and this time, the power dynamic is firmly in their favour

Victor Osimhen is back on Liverpool’s radar as the Reds consider a fresh move for the Nigerian striker this summer, IsaGoal can report.

With Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez already through the door, Liverpool’s rebuild under Arne Slot is far from finished.

The club is still looking to add firepower up front, especially with Alexander Isak proving difficult to prise from Newcastle.

Osimhen, long admired at Anfield, now presents a more realistic and strategic target.

Liverpool have reportedly opened discussions with Napoli and could be in a strong position if Darwin Nunez heads to Serie A as part of the deal.

Back in 2020, Liverpool had Osimhen firmly in their sights after his 18-goal season at Lille—but Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli famously blocked the move.

“He was locked in a hotel for three days,” Giandomenico Costi told Tuttosport. “Giuntoli knew Liverpool were interested… but he convinced Osimhen to sign for Napoli.”

That chapter saw Osimhen join Napoli, where he has since scored 76 goals in 133 appearances.

However, his relationship with the club has been turbulent, and with just a year left on his contract, Napoli may be forced to sell.

Now, Liverpool have the leverage—and if Napoli want to avoid losing him for free, a deal this summer looks inevitable.

Signing Osimhen would not only strengthen Liverpool’s attack but prevent a rival from landing one of Europe’s top forwards.

This time, there’s no hotel lock-in that can stop it.
