Liverpool are reportedly preparing a bold swap deal to land Brazilian forward Rodrygo from Real Madrid by offering Ibrahima Konate in return, IsaGoal can report.
The Reds are keen to sign Rodrygo this summer, especially as Luis Diaz edges closer to joining Bayern Munich.
Liverpool are said to value the Real Madrid winger highly and are willing to sweeten the deal by including Konate—plus around €35 million in cash—to tempt Madrid into accepting the proposal.
Rodrygo, who is reportedly open to a move to secure more regular minutes on the left wing, is valued at €100m by Madrid, and Liverpool’s initial offer could spark negotiations.
The Reds’ interest comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding Konate’s future, with Marca reporting that the French defender has rejected a contract extension at Anfield.
The 25-year-old has expressed his desire to leave the Premier League champions this summer, with Real Madrid being his top destination.
New Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is said to be a fan of Konate and is open to letting Rodrygo go if it brings defensive reinforcement to the Bernabeu.
Liverpool, under Arne Slot, have already strengthened with Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, but are still searching for a left winger and a new striker.
If the deal progresses, it would mark one of the summer’s most high-profile transfers, with both clubs addressing key needs.
Talks are expected to accelerate in the coming days.
