Liverpool FC will honour the life of Diogo Jota with a special tribute show airing Monday evening on LFCTV, IsaGoal can report.
It will be the first live broadcast since the Portuguese star tragically passed away alongside his brother, Andre Silva, in a car accident on July 3.
Liverpool Echo revealed the 28-year-old forward was returning to England for pre-season training when a suspected tyre blowout caused their vehicle to crash in Spain.
The funeral took place Saturday in Gondomar, Portugal, with head coach Arne Slot, club officials, and most of the first-team squad in attendance.
Since the incident, LFCTV has gone dark, airing only a static tribute.
It features a greyscale image of Jota forming a heart with his fingers, alongside the club’s statement mourning “an unimaginable loss.”
The channel will return tonight with Remembering Diogo: Our Number 20 at 6pm, offering fans a heartfelt hour-long tribute filmed at Anfield.
“Join us at Anfield as we remember Diogo Jota, our lad from Portugal, who will be so greatly missed,” the show description reads.
Following the tribute, LFCTV will air Diogo Jota: All the Goals—a 30-minute feature highlighting his 65 goals for Liverpool, including his final strike, a winner in the Merseyside derby against Everton.
At 9:45pm, the network will replay highlights from that memorable derby win, followed by a repeat of the tribute show at 10pm.
Liverpool’s players are expected to report for pre-season training on Tuesday, July 8, still grieving the loss of their teammate and friend.
