Liverpool have firmly rejected a formal approach from Bayern Munich for Colombian winger Luis Diaz, reaffirming their stance that the player is not for sale at any price this summer.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl was reportedly told directly by Liverpool officials that the Premier League champions have no intention of entertaining discussions regarding Diaz’s future.
This comes after Barcelona also made a discreet inquiry earlier in the summer, which was similarly dismissed.
Diaz, 28, has two years remaining on his current Anfield deal and has become a vital figure under new manager Arne Slot, playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign.
He recorded 13 goals and 7 assists in the league last season and scored a total of 22 goals for club and country.
Despite interest from Manchester City last year and ongoing admiration from Saudi Pro League clubs, Liverpool’s hierarchy view Diaz as untouchable, citing both his productivity and attitude as irreplaceable assets.
While speaking during international duty, Diaz reiterated his commitment to the club:
“I’m very happy at Liverpool – I’ve always said so… I’ll be happy whether I get a new contract or finish the current one. It depends on them.”
Sources suggest Liverpool may now explore a contract extension to reward Diaz and fend off further interest, with the winger’s performances drawing increasing attention across Europe.
For now, Diaz remains a key part of Slot’s plans as Liverpool gear up to defend their Premier League crown.
