Leroy Sané is prepared to accept reduced wages to remain at Bayern Munich, despite recent talks with Premier League side Arsenal regarding a potential summer move.
According to TBR Football, the German winger, whose contract expires this summer, has been in discussions with Arsenal, Chelsea, and other English clubs. However, no formal offers have been made. Sané, 29, has enjoyed a strong season under manager Vincent Kompany, featuring in 44 matches across all competitions and scoring 11 Bundesliga goals.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who previously worked with Sané at Manchester City, has shown renewed interest in bringing him to the Emirates. Still, Bayern Munich is hopeful of extending his stay. Sané’s current salary is around €15 million annually, but he is reportedly willing to reduce that to €12 million to remain with the German club. Bayern’s counteroffer currently stands at €10 million.
Despite outside interest, the forward favors staying within a top-tier setup. As one source noted, “The winger does want to stay within an ‘elite’ set-up.”
Talks have also taken place between Bayern and Spanish international Nico Williams, another target for Arsenal. Williams, currently at Athletic Club, is reportedly leaning toward a move to Barcelona, although a transfer to North London hasn’t been ruled out.
While Premier League clubs monitor the situation, there is growing belief that Sané will commit his future to Bayern, who originally signed him for £55 million in 2020.
