Juventus star Paul Pogba is very likely to miss this year’s World Cup following his latest muscle injury that will force him out of action for at least 15 days.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported in the morning that the 29-year-old had suffered a muscle injury while training at Continassa where he had been recovering after meniscus surgery.
Now, Sky Sport Italia claims exams undergone by the France midfielder highlighted a lesion that will force him to the sidelines for at least 15 days.
This means that the ex-Manchester United midfielder won’t play a single game for Juventus in 2022, making his ‘second’ debut with the Old Lady in 2023.
At this stage, it appears unlikely that Pogba will be included in the France squad for the World Cup, especially after what Didier Deschamps said earlier this month.
“His recovery is going well,” the former Juventus midfielder said two weeks ago in an interview with SportMediaset.
“First of all, he must recover, and after that, there is an athletic part to consider. It’s been a long time since he played his last game, but the most important thing is that he is healed and I think he will be.”
The situation has now changed as Pogba has suffered a new injury and will still be on the sidelines when France will reveal their squad list for Qatar 2022 on November 9.
