Jurgen Klopp has revealed his uncertainty over the return of Darwin Nunez as the Liverpool star continues to struggle with a shoulder injury.
Nunez was forced off during last week’s game against Newcastle United, but was able to start and score in the midweek Champions League match against Real Madrid following a painkilling injection.
Unfortunately, he aggravated the injury and is now a doubt for Wednesday’s Premier League game vs Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Joe Gomez is also absent due to muscle issues, while Diogo Jota got his first start since October as he gradually builds up match fitness after almost four months out with a calf issue.
Klopp said of Jota’s performance: “It was really, really good…he can play better of course but that’s how it is.”
