Manchester United have completed the signing of Sweden international Julia Zigiotti Olme from Bayern Munich on a two-year deal, which includes an optional extension – www.isagoal.com reports.
The 27-year-old, who featured consistently for Sweden during their Euro 2025 run before bowing out to England in the quarter-finals, brings both club and international experience to the WSL side.
According to BBC Sport, Zigiotti previously played in England with Brighton before her switch to Bayern in early 2024, where she helped the German side clinch both the Frauen-Bundesliga title and the domestic cup.
Speaking after the move, Zigiotti said, “I’m really excited to start this new journey – the team feels like a perfect match for how I play.”
She also added, “I’ve been following Manchester United closely and seeing their progress has been really inspiring.”
During her first meeting with the squad, she noted the welcoming atmosphere and described the team as having “a real family feel.”
Zigiotti’s return to England sees her rejoin the WSL with more silverware under her belt and a chance to be a core part of United’s evolving midfield.
Manchester United will open their new Women’s Super League campaign at home against Leicester City on Sunday, September 7.
