Liverpool cruised to a 5-1 victory over West Ham, with Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo each scoring twice, adding pressure on West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui.

Lopetegui, who is struggling with just one win in five league games since replacing David Moyes.

He made eight changes to the team following a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, which made him the first West Ham manager to lose three consecutive home games to start a season.

West Ham took a surprise lead in the 21st minute when Kostas Tsimikas’s mishit clearance deflected off Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah for an own goal.

Liverpool responded quickly, with Jota equalizing four minutes later, heading in Federico Chiesa’s volley.

Jota added his second just after halftime, combining with Curtis Jones before firing past Lukasz Fabianski.

Mohamed Salah came off the bench to score in the 74th minute after Alexis Mac Allister’s shot was parried into his path.

West Ham’s troubles deepened when Edson Alvarez was sent off two minutes later for a second yellow card after fouling Salah.

Gakpo completed the demolition with two late goals, smashing home from 18 yards in the 90th minute and netting a deflected effort moments later.

Lopetegui expressed frustration, stating, “We don’t deserve this score because we did a lot of good things,” while Liverpool boss Arne Slot commented on the hard-fought nature of the match, despite the lopsided result.
