Brentford striker Ivan Toney is reportedly set to reject interest from Chelsea and Manchester United to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.
The Bees have accepted a £35 million bid from the Saudi Pro League side on transfer deadline day.
However, the deal doesn’t have to be completed immediately, as the Saudi transfer window remains open until September 2.
Toney had been strongly linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United, but Al-Ahli’s financial offer has proven irresistible.
The striker is expected to sign a contract worth £400,000 a week, including bonuses, making him one of the highest-paid English footballers.
During his four years at the Brentfod, Toney made a significant impact.
He scored 31 goals in the Championship, helping Brentford secure promotion to the Premier League.
In the top tier, he netted 36 goals in 83 appearances, including 20 goals in the 2022-23 season.
Toney’s contributions were not limited to club football, he also earned six caps for England, even featuring as a substitute in the Euro 2024 final against Spain.
Toney will undergo a medical in London before flying out to Jeddah on Friday night.
Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed that Toney will not be selected for their upcoming game against Southampton, having missed the first two matches of the season.
Should the move go through, Toney will leave Brentford with a memorable legacy and a new chapter awaiting him in the Arabian Gulf.
