Inter Milan and Atalanta have officially begun negotiations for Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman, IsaGoal can report.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the clubs disagree on the forward’s valuation, stalling progress despite Lookman’s push to secure a move.
Lookman has made it clear he wants to wear Inter colours next season and already turned down Napoli’s approach to stay focused on the Nerazzurri.
“Atalanta are firm on their €50 million demand,” according to the report, while Inter have no plans to raise their offer beyond €40 million.
Sources say Atalanta would rather sell the 27-year-old outside Italy than allow a domestic rival to land him for less than their price tag.
Lookman’s transfer hinges on both clubs finding common ground, and that has yet to happen as pre-season deadlines creep in.
Inter boss Cristian Chivu is eager to have the forward in his squad, with training sessions already underway and final decisions nearing.
Atalanta previously held firm during similar talks involving Teun Koopmeiners, signaling they won’t fold easily in this case either.
If Inter don’t step up with a better offer soon, they could lose out on a key attacking target before the season begins.
