How Liverpool Can Afford Isak After Wirtz Transfer

Liverpool could be ready to break the British transfer record again as they open talks with Newcastle over a £120m move for striker Alexander Isak

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Liverpool are eyeing a sensational £120m move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, IsaGoal can report.

The Reds have reportedly contacted the Magpies over a deal, though no formal bid has been submitted yet, The Athletic claims.

Newcastle maintain that Isak is not for sale, but with no new contract signed and speculation rising, Liverpool seem keen to test the waters.

Isak scored 25 goals in all competitions last season and remains one of the Premier League’s most sought-after forwards.

The contact came just 24 hours after Newcastle submitted a bid for Hugo Ekitike, another Liverpool-linked striker.

Liverpool have already spent heavily this summer, shelling out £116m on Florian Wirtz, £28.6m on Jeremie Frimpong and £40m on Milos Kerkez.

Under Fenway Sports Group, such aggressive spending has been rare, but Liverpool’s current financial health gives them room to operate.

The Reds recorded a Premier League title win and a deep Champions League run last season, boosting income past £185m in merit payments and matchday revenue.

Their 2024/25 revenue is expected to top £700m, putting them in a strong position for UEFA and Premier League financial sustainability rules.

Liverpool posted a net PSR cushion of £153m after accounting for losses, allowable deductions, and profit from outgoing transfers.

The club’s strategic sales—including Caoimhin Kelleher for £18m and Jarell Quansah for £30m—generated pure profit, helping balance out rising amortisation.

They could also move on Darwin Núñez, who would bring in a modest gain while clearing his remaining contract costs.

If Liverpool land Isak for £120m, the fee would be amortised at £24m per year over five years—well within their current budget.

Liverpool’s approach this summer shows clear intent to build a squad capable of defending their Premier League title and going deep in Europe.

The Reds continue to lead the way not just on the pitch, but off it—with elite financial planning and smart transfer decisions that fit within PSR.
