A brief round down of how it happened in the African qualifiers on the continent on Sunday and a few recaps of some other exciting games played at the weekend.
While top African sides like Senegal and Tunisia experiencing convincing wins at home against their counterparts.
In Group A
Sao Tome and Principe 0-2 Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone defeated the weakest team in Group A when they ran out with a 0-2 away win on the road.
Goals from Abu Bakarr Samura, and Alhassan Koroma in the 7th and 28th minute secured the win for Sierra Leone when they faced host Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.
In Group H
Lesotho 0-2 Zambia
A dominant Zambian side on Sunday defeated African minnows Lesotho 0-2 at home.
The Zambians could have scored more goals to their credit in the qualifying contest as was evident.
But they were just able to secure the three maximum points courtesy of goals from Leicester City striker Patson Daka in the 14th and 69th minute of the match.

In Group J
Tunisia 3-0 Libya
Tunisia overcame fellow North African side Libya 3-0 at home in Tunisia. Goals from Youssef Msakni and Ali Maaloul (from the penalty spot) gave Tunisia a 2-0 lead going into the break.
The goals were scored in the 13th and 21st minutes while Haythem Jouini scored in the 86th minute to make it a resounding 3-0 victory for Tunisia.

Equatorial Guinea 2-0 Botswana
Equatorial Guinea defeated Botswana 2-0 in the African qualifying series. Goals from Saul Coco in the 20th minute gave the side a 1-0 lead before the half-hour mark.
While Federico Bikoro scored in the 66th minute to secure the victory for the home side.
Though the visitors (Botswana) finished the game with 10 men as Botswana’s Thate Kebne was sent in the 53rd minute of the game.
In Group L
Senegal 5-1 Mozambique
Senegal was rampant in front of goal when they played host against their Mozambique counterpart at home.
Goals from Youssouf Salaby opened the scoring for the Senegalese side in the 9th minute.
Before further goals from former Liverpool star striker Sadio Mane in the 25th minute made it 2-0 for the host.
IIiman Ndiaye scored to make 3-0 for Senegal in the 32nd minute.
However, the Teranga Lions weren’t done as they scored the fourth goal in the 39th minutes courtesy of a rebound from Serie A-based Boulaye Dia.
After the restart, Mozambique pulled a goal back through Gildo Vilanculos in the 48th minute following a header from a set-piece.
But Habib Diallo netted late in the game to make it 5-1 thus restoring the four-goal cushion for the African Champions in the match.
