Reports indicate that the Glazer family, owners of Manchester United since 2005, are willing to push back their takeover deadline until the end of May in order to draw bids from interested parties.
The Glazer’s initial target was to conclude by the first quarter of 2021 or by April.
So far, multiple suitors have failed to meet their hefty £5billion valuation for the club, including INEOS Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
At least four other parties remain interested in owning Manchester United, with representatives from Elliot Management having been spotted at Old Trafford for a Europa League match earlier this month.
Though no offers have come close to the Glazer’s asking price, they remain committed to selling — but only at the right price.
For now, current manager Erik ten Hag is doing his best to keep the focus on football rather than getting involved in potential negotiations.
