Gary Neville didn’t hold back his criticisms of Bruno Fernandes after Manchester United’s humiliating 7-0 loss to Liverpool.
As one of the team captains, Fernandes was expected to lead by example but instead was accused by Neville of constantly whinging and showing poor effort on the pitch.
One incident, in particular, drew ire from both Neville and Roy Keane – when Fernandes went down clutching his face after being pushed in the chest by Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.
Rival fans even taunted him for his theatrics, as Neville called it an embarrassing display from the Portuguese midfielder.
While Fernandes tried to deflect blame in a post-match interview, stating that the team needs to improve and get back on track, Neville emphasized the need for stronger leadership and better performances from all players going forward.
