Fulham’s goalless run at the start of the Premier League season has sparked calls for reinforcements, with Owen Hargreaves insisting a right winger is needed – www.isagoal.com reports.
As reported by This Day, the Cottagers played out a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Craven Cottage, their second consecutive stalemate of the campaign.
The London side ended last season in eleventh place, narrowly missing out on Europe after recording their best-ever Premier League points tally.
With Marco Silva aiming to close that gap this year, recruitment has once again become a central talking point.
Hargreaves, speaking on Premier League Productions, argued that Fulham’s attack lacks balance on the right flank.
“I love Robinson and Iwobi on the left channel, two exceptional athletes,” he said, before adding, “Maybe somebody off that right-hand side that can score some goals.”
The former England midfielder admitted Fulham looked too cautious early against United but praised their resilience in grinding out results.
Transfer rumors have linked the club with AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze, though the Nigerian winger is believed to prefer other options if he leaves Italy.
Another target is FC Basel’s Philip Otele, with Fulham scouts monitoring him closely ahead of a potential late-window bid.
