Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has officially told Fenerbahçe he will leave the club at the end of the season, IsaGoal can report.

Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba confirmed Osayi-Samuel’s camp has directly informed Fenerbahçe’s management of his decision, ending months of uncertainty about his future.

Osayi-Samuel is focused on returning to England when his contract expires later this month. He previously played for Queens Park Rangers and is determined to secure a move back to the Premier League.

“I think everyone knows that my ambition is to play English football, to play in the [English] Premier League, you know,” Osayi-Samuel told Soccernet.ng. “No disrespect, they [Fenerbahçe] have done so much for me there [in Turkey]. But my ambition is to play in the Premier League.”

The Super Eagles star has already received offers from several European clubs and is carefully weighing his next step.

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahçe in 2021 and quickly earned the admiration of fans with his hard work and ability to perform as both a right-back and winger.

Fenerbahçe did not present a contract renewal offer, and reports indicate that internal confusion over his salary demands played a role in his decision to leave.

Premier League and Championship clubs are currently monitoring his situation, and his next destination is expected to be confirmed soon.

So far, there has been no official statement from either the player or Fenerbahçe regarding a contract extension.
