Mikel Arteta is keeping a close watch on young Nigerian midfielder Ibrahim before Arsenal face Athletic Club in the Emirates Cup – www.isagoal.com reports.
Jeorge Bird revealed the 17-year-old joined senior training at London Colney on Friday.
Ibrahim has been with Arsenal since 2016, arriving from grassroots side AFC All Stars.
The teenager signed a scholarship for the 2024/25 season and is capable of playing both in midfield and at fullback.
Arteta values his composure on the ball and strength in one-on-one duels.
He missed the pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong, plus the Villarreal friendly.
Last season, he scored once in 28 matches across U18 league and cup competitions.
In February, he earned his first call-up for a Premier League 2 match against West Ham, though he remained on the bench.
Ibrahim has represented England at U15 level but remains eligible for Nigeria.
