Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Peter Rufai has commended Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye for joining Premier league side, Watford.

Okoye signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Watford which starts from January 1, 2022. The Premier League disclosed this in a statement via their website on Monday.

Reacting to his move, Rufai told Isagoal in an interview that Okoye’s move to Watford will boast his career and also improve his rating in the Super Eagles.

“I am so delighted that Maduka Okoye has joined Watford in the Premier League. It is a sign that he’s doing something right to have attracted new manager, Claudio Raineri.

“I certainly believe his move will help develop his game and improve his rating in the Super Eagles as well with the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations just around the corner.”
