Wesley Okoduwa, son of former Nigerian international Emmanuel Okoduwa, has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers’ first team for their pre-season training camp in Portugal, Isagoal can report.
The 17-year-old defender was included in head coach Vitor Pereira’s 28-man squad traveling to the Algarve, according to reports.
Born in New York and eligible to represent Nigeria, the U.S., or England, Okoduwa currently features for England’s U18s.
He made his international youth debut in May 2025 against Morocco, earning praise for his composure and energy.
“Wesley has the qualities to develop into a top-level fullback,” a Wolves academy source reportedly said.
The teenager has drawn interest from Chelsea for two straight summers but chose to commit to Wolves by signing his first professional contract this year.
He’s now pushing to break into the Premier League side after previously being named on the bench six times without a debut.
Those appearances included matches against Arsenal, Manchester City, and Newcastle.
Okoduwa arrived with the squad on Thursday and trained with the team the next day.
He’s expected to feature in behind-closed-doors friendlies during the camp as he aims to earn senior minutes.
