Celtic have signed promising Nigerian-Scottish midfielder Emmanuel Obidiwe to his first professional contract, IsaGoal can report.

According to Celtic’s official website, six other rising stars—Hassan Dembele, Nathan Meechan, Joseph Haney, Rocco Di Giacomo, Lucas Clearie, and Kayden Daly—also penned new deals.

Obidiwe impressed at the youth level, regularly playing above his age group for Celtic B last season.

He made a notable appearance in April’s Glasgow Cup final against Rangers, coming off the bench as Celtic narrowly lost on penalties.

Weeks later, he scored a crucial equaliser in a 1–1 draw with Broxburn Athletic in the Lowland League, again for the B team.

“He’s shown a maturity beyond his years,” said a coach familiar with Obidiwe’s progress.

On the international front, Obidiwe earned his first Scotland U16 call-up in February for the UEFA Youth Development Tournament.

He scored in his debut match, helping Scotland come from behind to beat Cyprus 3–1.

Obidiwe’s interest in Nigerian football runs deep—he follows Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who stars for Napoli, on social media.
