Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward could delay his exit from the club to oversee the appointment of an interim manager following Ole’s sacking on Sunday.
In April, following the collapse of club’s attempt to join the breakaway European Super League, United announced that Woodward would retire at the end of this year.
The United executive chairman Woodward admitted at the time that it would be difficult to walk away, and there has been no further comment on his future since.
However, he has remained at the centre of the team decision making process and he was also instrumental in the club’s decision to sack Ole.
According to Sky Sports, it was gathered that Woodward summoned all United’s football staff together on Sunday morning, to tell them that their jobs are safe and whoever get the job will work with the backroom staffs on ground.
