Arsenal have stepped up efforts to sign Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze as part of their plan to strengthen their frontline this window, Isagoal can report.
As per Football.London, the 27-year-old is a firm target for Mikel Arteta, who remains intent on adding more creativity to his squad before the window shuts.
Eze, under contract until 2027, had an impressive Premier League campaign last season with 8 goals and 8 assists across 34 appearances.
He also delivered the winner in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup final against Manchester City, sealing a 1-0 victory at Wembley.
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to activate his £67.5 million release clause but prefer a staggered payment structure rather than a one-time fee.
Football Insider described Eze as a “leading contender” to join the Gunners, with talks now focused on the financial breakdown of the deal.
Graeme Bailey told TBR Football that Palace chairman Steve Parish would accept a deal split into an upfront fee of £25m–£30m, with the remaining amount paid in two parts.
The proposed deal could also include performance-based add-ons that would increase the final sum.
UEFA’s recent ruling against Palace’s European eligibility, due to John Textor’s dual ownership links with Lyon, may further nudge Eze toward the exit.
“I’m really focused on becoming the best version of myself,” Eze said previously. “Whatever comes with that, I’m at peace with it.”
